CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO- The Region 1 police headed by Police Brigadier General Rodolfo S Azurin, Jr., Regional Director together with the National Police Commission- Regional Office 1 (NAPOLCOM-RO1) kicked-off on Monday morning (July 6, 2020) the 25th Police Community Relations Month Celebration at the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) which highlighted the awarding of medals to Police Commissioned Officers (PCO), Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO), Police Units and Local Chief Executives that immensely contributed and supported the conduct of various PCR activities in their respective areas of responsibility.
The kick-off ceremony of the 25th PCR Month anchored with the theme “Pinaigting na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Pulisya, Laban sa COVID-19 Pandemya” was graced by Atty. Monday R Samson, Director of NAPOLCOM-RO1 as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
In his message, he emphasized the importance of technological advancement in coping up with the pandemic and stressed that the National Police Commission is continuously working out online training, programs and webinars that the PNP and other government agencies needed.
“We should not be stopped by other things especially with the pandemic on how to go back to our business,” he stressed.
He also lauded the awardees for displaying valuable commitment in public service. “To all the awardees, congratulations. What you are doing does not only make the PNP proud but also the entire Region 1,” he averred.
Meanwhile, in his message, Police Brigadier General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr., stressed the importance of police community relations in law enforcement. He emphasized that PCR organizes and mobilizes the community in crime prevention.
“This year’s PCR Month theme, “Pinaigting na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Pulisya Laban sa COVID-19 Pandemya,” truly underscores the importance of police and community partnership. It captures the essential need for cooperation to attain our common goal of lasting peace, progress and prosperity despite the pandemic we are facing today.” he said.
The month-long celebration includes the conduct of PCR related activities such as lectures on Crime Prevention, Effective Parenting and Responsible Parenthood, Basic Psychological Intervention, Health Protocols on New Normal, outreach programs under Kapwa Ko, Sagot ko Program and tree planting in DENR identified areas.
