CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – In the spirit of camaraderie, the Police Regional Office 1 held its Intercolor Sportsfest 2019 yesterday, July 16, 2019 (Tuesday) in the afternoon at the PRO1 Parade Ground.

It was indeed a festive event that gave leeway for all PRO1 personnel to have a much needed break and a time to relax in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere.

Personnel from the different Offices were grouped into 7 teams and were represented by their respective muses. The teams included the Pink Panthers, Red Bulls, White Shark, Black Eagle, Orange Puma, Yellow Bumble Bees and Blue Team.

The Intercolor Sports fest commenced with the parade of teams and was immediately followed by an opening program where each team presented their yells.

Several sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Lawn Tennis and Dartspin are carefully lined up to provide the personnel opportunities to showcase their skills, grit and teamwork.

During the opening ceremony, Police Brigadier General Joel S Orduña, PRO1 Regional Director stressed that the said activity is a welcome breather from the exacting demands of their daily tasks and indeed a welcome respite after months and weeks of pressure.

“Let us brace ourselves as we begin today with the ball games and keep in mind that we are here to compete in the spirit of fun and camaraderie. Let us renew our bonds with our fellow police personnel, relax, and enjoy the competition. Each game is a friendly contest that must be done in the spirit of sportsmanship,” he averred.

Meanwhile, the Orange Puma garnered the Best in Yell while the Pink Panthers got the Best Muse award. ###
