Police Brigadier General Emmanuel B Peralta, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) administered on Thursday (December 9) the donning of ranks and oath taking of 1,131 police personnel who are promoted to the next higher ranks on a ceremony held at the PRO1 Grandstand.

PBGEN PERALTA said the promoted personnel comprised of 90 Police Commissioned officers (PCOs) and 1,041 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) assigned in Regional Headquarters, Police Provincial Offices and City and Municipal police units including personnel assigned with mobile forces.

Among the Police Commissioned Officers, seven (7) were promoted to Police Lieutenant Colonel, 34 to Police Major, 44 to Police Captain and 5 to Police Lieutenant.

For PNCOs, 107 were promoted as Police Executive Master Sergeant, 198 for Police Chief Master Sergeant, 185 for Police Senior Master Sergeant, 101 for Police Master Sergeant, 322 for Police Staff Sergeant and 128 for Police Corporal.

In his message, PBGEN PERALTA mentioned that said promotion is one of his priorities as his way of recognizing the sacrifices, accomplishments and merit the personnel have displayed in the police service not only in the fight against criminality  but also against COVID-19.

During the ceremony, he also emphasized that promotion does not mean more authority, but implies more responsibilities and contributions to the PNP organization.

“Habang tumataas ang ating ranggo, kaakibat nito ang pagtaas din ng ating tungkulin. Dahil dito, dapat tayong maging mas maingat sa ating mga kilos, salita at mas masigasig sa pagtupad ng ating tungkulin. Tayong mga nakakatanda sa serbisyo ay magsilbi sanang gabay sa ating mga  kapwa pulis. In short, we should lead by a good example,” he averred.
